While it is true that you are allowed to eat as much cabbage soup as you want for a single week, you are also allowed to consume other types of healthy foods as well. For instance, you will be allowed to eat fish, chicken, vegetables, fruits, bananas, milk, and other healthy recipes using cabbage. The catch with this particular cabbage soup recipe diet is that you should prioritize by eating cabbage soup for as long as you can so that when you feel the urge to try other types of food, you will only be consuming a small amount. However, even though you are allowed to eat other types of food aside from cabbage soup, you should still avoid specific types of food that have a high glycemic index (sugar), high amount of fat, and a high amount of calories. Cabbage Soup
Ingredients:
- 1 head of cabbage
- 6 green onions
- 2 cans of diced tomatoes
- 3 carrots
- 1 green pepper
- 10oz container of sliced mushrooms
- 4 stalks of celery
- 1 package onion soup mix
- 2 chicken bouillon cubes
- 12 cups water
- Salt and pepper
Chop the green onions and cook them over medium high heat in a skillet coated with cooking spray. Chop all of the vegetables and add them to the pan. Saute until just softened. Fill a large soup pot with the water and bring to a boil. Add all of the ingredients and the sauted vegetables. Simmer on low until all ingredients are combined and all the vegetables are soft. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Eat this soup for as many meals as you can while you are on the diet. The soup is good for you, but it will severely limit the types of nutrients you can get into your body. Lose the weight you need and then reintroduce other healthy fruits, vegetables, whole grains and protein into your diet.
