Healthy and Moist Pork Chop Recipes

Pork chops are a classic main dish comfort food meal. There are numerous pork chop recipes online and in cookbooks, but a lot of people forget the fact that properly baked pork chops are not only delicious, but they can also be very healthy.  Healthy pork chop recipes are are a wonderful addition to your recipe box if you are trying to lose weight or just looking for a great week night meal. Below is one of the classic low fat and fast pork chop recipes you can make any night of the week. You will need the following ingredients to begin:

-    pork chops – as many as you need to feed your family that have a thickness of at least 1 inch
-    ½  cup of bread crumbs
-    3/4 cup of cornflakes
-    1 egg that has already been separated
-    1 cup of evaporated milk
-    5 tsp paprika
-    1 tsp oregano
-    ½  tsp garlic powder and salt
-    ¼  tsp red pepper flakes
-    1 Tbs parmesan cheese
-    non-stick cooking spray

To begin making this baked pork chop recipe, pat the chops dry and trim off any excess fat. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. In a separate large bowl, combine the egg white with the evaporated milk. After making sure that the egg white and the evaporated milk are thoroughly combined, place each pork chop into the bowl. Combine the bread crumbs and cornflakes in another separate bowl. Add all of the remaining spices  and the parmesan cheese to the bread crumb and cornflake mixture.  Spray a baking dish with non-stick cooking spray and place it at the end of your assembly line of dishes. Take each pork chop from the egg and milk mixture and coat all sides with the bread crumb and cornflake mixture. Place on the sprayed baking pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Breaded Pork Chops
-    1 egg
-    Whole wheat crackers – smashed into crumbs
-    ½ cup milk

Combine the egg and milk in a shallow bowl and put the cracker crumbs into a separate shallow dish. Dredge each pork chop in the egg and milk mixture and then into the crackers. Place in a baking dish and bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes or until the pork is no longer pink in the middle.

Apricot Glazed Pork Chops
-    2/3 cup apricot/peach preserves
-    ½ cup low calorie Italian dressing
-    2 Tbs. Dijon mustard

Combine the preserves, dressing and mustard in a small bowl and pour half into a large plastic bag. Add the pork to the bag and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours or overnight. After marinating, remove the pork from the bag and grill the pork chops 5 minutes on each side on medium heat. Baste with the remaining marinade that was held aside throughout cooking.
